Your carriage awaits you: Gordon Services has provided a fast comprehensive and cost effective service for the railway industry since its formation in 1993 and specialises in undercarriage maintenance, pantograph, air conditioning and toilet overhaul from all types of rolling stock throughout the UK. Gordon Services has comprehensive maintenance facilities extending across a large area of its premises located in rural Essex. These facilities are divided into a number of specialist workshops focussing on individual component overhaul. In addition, the company has both cabinet shot blasting and external pot blasting facilities used for heavily soiled cleaning) and multiple spray booth facilities with controlled heat and humidity (for spraying various components). Whilst Gordon Services normally operates off-site from its customers, it is recognised that for some specific service requirements, there is a need to work within the customers own premises. Gordon Services is able to adopt a flexible approach so as to be able to meet deadlines giving the service required by the client but in no way compromising quality.
The company operates its own transport fleet providing varying sizes of vehicle. Gordon Services specialises in the maintenance and servicing of disassembled motor body and trailer bogie components including suspension, axles and brakes. The company also overhauls air receivers, compressors, toilets (Semlet / K-vacuum toilets) including sluice valves, lead assemblies, couplings, window pans, under-seat heaters, and batteries. Full maintenance of pantograph components and assemblies is also offered. Gordon Services is the sole distributor of Semvac parts within the UK, and is currently running a maintenance project on behalf of the Danish manufacturer of these vacuum toilets for the railway industry. As well as providing a full maintenance service for traditional toilet components, Gordon Services are equipped to service the Semvac Mini Vac electronic toilet modules including full software simulation during the overhaul process. Accreditations are ISO 9001:2008 quality assurance and ISO 14001 environmental policy and are fully approved specialist railway contractor as part of the Link-up scheme. The fully skilled workforce consists of engineers, electricians and coded welders who are certified to BS EN287 level for pressurised vessels.
